THERE has been no TV reception whatsoever for the 7 and 10 networks at my location for three weeks ("TV tower job hits signal", Lakes Mail, August 7), and it appears this situation will continue for another month.

If the Department of Communications had the slightest consideration for viewers covered by the Newcastle/Mount Sugarloaf signal footprint, it would have ensured that the temporary transmitter left no blind spots in the coverage by measuring signal strengths throughout the entire areas affected before commencing re-tuning.
If any signal levels below minimum were located, then the
re-tuning should have been postponed until the temporary transmitter was performing suitably.
The fact that this did not occur shows either incompetence and/or ignorance of those in charge of this task and a total disregard for the viewing public.
