Tree-planting events are planned at:
■ Coal Point - meet at Gurranba Reserve, Sky Point Road, 10am-noon;
■ Warners Bay - meet at footbridge at end of Albert Street, 9am-noon;
■ Catherine Hill Bay - meet at the surf club car park, near the barbecue area, 9.30am-noon.
Each year more than 200,000 people take part in National Tree Day events at 3000 sites organised by councils, schools, businesses, and communities across the country.
Since Planet Ark launched National Tree Day in 1996, more than 3 million participants have planted 20 million native trees, shrubs and grasses.
