The trust has been nominated in the Crown Lands Crown Reserve Trust, Community Managers Award category for the 2014 NSW/ACT Regional Achievement and Community Awards.
The trust's six committee members were appointed in 2010.
The showground is used for many events including speedway, rugby league, dog shows, agricultural shows and equestrian events, and attracts about 20,000 users and visitors a year.
"As a working showground, the reserve trust has faced many challenges including providing electricity and lighting to the ground to allow for after-hours and night events," a spokesperson for the awards said.
The trust recently receiving funding which, when combined with the proceeds of its fund-raising, enabled it to fund an underground electricity supply.
"The trust have also improved the kitchen facilities by upgrading fridges, deep dryers and the fit-out of a function room, to increase patronage," the spokesperson said.
The winner of the award will receive $5000.
