Mural finished
A COMMUNITY mural aimed at reducing graffiti will be officially launched at Summerland Point Community Centre on Friday, August 8, at 10.30am. Murals are one initiative in Wyong Council's Graffiti Management Strategy, which aims to improve the graffiti removal process, deter vandals, and encourage a whole-of-community approach to reducing and preventing graffiti.

Croquet days
TORONTO Croquet Club will hold open days at Ron Hill Oval this Saturday, July 26, at 10am, and Tuesday, July 29, at 11am. All equipment is supplied and participants can play members at their own pace.

Colliery concerns
LAKE Macquarie City Council has endorsed a draft submission to the Department of Planning and Environment which raises environmental concerns regarding potential subsidence impacts and connective cracking in relation to the extension of the underground coal mining area at West Wallsend colliery, Ryhope, to allow mining of two additional longwall panels.
Last day for funds
APPLICATIONS close tomorrow for Wyong Shire Council's new sponsorship program to assist the staging of activities or events that benefit the shire. The annual pool of $80,000 can be applied to small or large initiatives, and be for single or multi-year funding, up to three years.
Planet Ark event
KOOINDAH Waters will join Greening Australia to plant native trees across the Wyong resort in support of Planet Ark's National Tree Day on Sunday. Volunteers can participate in the tree planting event, which aims to plant hundreds of trees. There will then be free refreshments and a barbecue lunch.
