Unregistered, unmuffled dirt bikes ridden by unlicensed kids (and some older ones) are tearing up the bush around the area. A concrete footpath is not going to solve that problem.

Secondary to the bikes, the existing dirt path is a water run-off channel and creating erosion problems as it runs down hill into the residential area.

All of the Crown Land in this area is subject to abuse by local dirt bike riders, dumpers and other suspicious activities that take place in cars driven into the bush late at night on the (unblocked) track just east of Baldwin Avenue.

I used to walk my dog through there but the dirt bike kids have created a competition track back there which is destroying the bush. The police are nowhere to be seen.

A bush management plan is needed to address all of the issues relating to the abuse of the environment, dumping, elimination of dirt bikes, as well as public access.

The blocking off of the access tracks with locked gates is a good start, but it's hard to stop dirt bikes just cutting new tracks around the gates.

Heck, I have watched young kids riding two up, jumping busy Fishery Point Road, crossing from one side to the other.

Parents have the ultimate responsibility for their behaviour and the police need to be there and impounding the illegal machines.

It's a problem that is only going to get worse as new housing is constructed in the area near the Bay Village.
