Tom Holland, 14, of Kilaben Bay, is the Hunter's only representative in the 20-member national team to compete in Mexico from July 31 to August 10.
But where Bob Holland made his name bowling leg-spin with flight, Tom is a speed man.
Tom, a pitcher, has had his fast balls clocked at more than 128km/h.
The Newcastle Herald this week reported Holland came to the attention of selectors with his performances at the under-16 national championships in January, when Holland's NSW Country side were the surprise packets.
At club level, Tom plays lower grades with his father Craig for the Toronto Tigers, and with his father and grandfather in grade cricket.
