CONGRATULATIONS to Westlakes District Netball Association's 15s team who won the Eastwood-Ryde Netball Association's rep carnival after completing the day undefeated.
A special mention goes to the team's goal defence/keepers Lauren, Jesse and Tiana who performed exceptionally. They ensured that only 59 points were scored against the team, compared with the 150 goals scored by Westlakes.
"They are amazing girls who give it everything they've got at every training and game - we are very proud of them," coach Tracy Baldock said.
In the recent Clubs NSW Academy Games, Hunter Academy of Sport put on a good showing, scoring wins against all other regional academies.
However, the tough competition put up by the Sydney academies was too strong for the local players, who finished the competition with seven wins and five losses.
Notable wins were a 16-15 win over Illawarra Academy of Sport, and a 17-13 win over the invited New Zealand team, St Margaret's.
Westlakes and Hunter Academy's Shae Jordan said: "It was awesome to be involved in such an intense netball competition.
"It was just the best experience".
Westlakes will host its representative carnival this Sunday at its Wangi courts.
