LOCAL artists will be right in the mix at the annual Newcastle Craft and Sewing Show, which starts today, in Newcastle.
Among them will be Gwandalan’s June Howard who has been president of the Porcelain Artists Association of the Hunter Valley for longer than she can remember – and it’s a role she relishes.
June lives and breathes porcelain art and when not assisting the association with workshops and displays, she can be found immersed in her craft at home in the sunroom that she converted to an art studio to accommodate her kilns.
The show, which runs from 10am to 4.30pm daily, finishing on Sunday afternoon, will again feature inspirational displays, art and craft experts, workshops and classes, as well as the chance to buy art and craft supplies for everything from stamping and scrapbooking to knitting, sewing, jewellery-making and more.
It’s on at the Entertainment Centre Showground.
