But it's not every day that you celebrate your 70th wedding anniversary.
Les and Edna Ware, of Cooranbong, recently marked the milestone with more than 65 family and friends at their home in Rosedale Gardens.
The couple's son, Russel Ware, said his parents professed "deep love and a commitment of care" for each other and reckon that's been the key to their happy marriage.
Newspaper extracts from March, 1944, record that Edna, then 18, from a farming family near Parkes, married Sergeant Leslie Ware, then serving at the RAAF base in Parkes, at the local Methodist Church.
The "charming bride" was reported to be wearing "a beautiful gown of white angel-skin lace over satin cut with a long circular scalloped train" and "a three-tiered tulle veil held in place by a tiara of orange blossoms". The couple have four children, 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
