However, the lure of Wyee proved too much for the longtime local.
After three years of missing her home town, Ms Murray and Mr Nagle have returned to live in Wyee and open a business in Morisset.
‘‘I was missing my family, particularly my mum, and my friends,’’ Ms Murray said.
‘‘My brother has recently had some babies, so I wanted to be in their life more because they’re growing up.’’
The couple opened their agricultural feed and supplies business, Hay Shed, in Alliance Avenue, in January.
‘‘We’ve only been open for a while, but it’s a great spot, everyone has been really friendly and coming in to have a look at the shop,’’ Mr Nagle said.
‘‘Every week we are getting more and more customers.’’
Ms Murray said the area, particularly Morisset where she went to school, had changed a lot from the days of her childhood.
She said she had noticed the changes even more since returning.
‘‘It’s a lot busier – there’s traffic lights in the main street now, and Woolworths and Coles. There used to be only a small Bi-Lo,’’ she said.
‘‘The area has really grown, there’s so many new estates and things getting built – I think it’s going to boom.’’
Mr Nagle said he is enjoying the lifestyle change and looking forward to some down time once the business is well established.
‘‘I’ve been planning to do a bit of fishing. I’ll have to bring my boat down,’’ he laughed.
