Claws for good cause

THE countdown is on for the annual Paws and Claws Walk for a Cause on Sunday, August 26.

If you would like to dress up your dog and take part in the fun walk fund-raiser for the local RSPCA and Wyong Shire Animal Care Facility, then get on board.

The event, which is in its fourth year, starts at 10am from Rotary Park, Long Jetty, or there is a shorter walk also starting at 10am at the lake end of Archbold Road, Long Jetty.

Walkers will travel beside the lake foreshore and finish at The Entrance's Memorial Park where a family fun day - featuring The Ritz Dance Company, local band Skyepoint, and Rufus the Dalmatian - will be held.

There will be pet and food stands, amusements and displays by Central Coast Dog Obedience Training Club. And children can get up close with crocodiles and reptiles from Crocodile Encounters.

A best-dressed dog, best trick and cutest puppy competitions will be other attractions.

Registration costs $8 per dog (before Wednesday, August 22), or $10 on the day of the walks.
