More pedestrian trouble at Arcadia Vale

FURTHER to your story ("Pedestrians now fenced out, say locals," Lakes Mail, June 14), I would like to comment that Alexander Parade is not the only street in Arcadia Vale where you take your life into your own hands.

I walk my dog early every morning around Arcadia Vale and can't understand why someone has not been killed or seriously injured (including myself) as they walk the length of Arcadia Street, particularly in winter when it is still dark.

Following a couple of near misses, I now seek refuge in the nearest driveway whenever I hear a car coming.

The edge of the road is uneven, pot-holed and quite narrow.

I understand the problems the council faces with funding, but Arcadia Street needs some attention before a tragedy happens.
