Chamber calls for end to 'absurd' F3 agony

IT'S time that Lake Macquarie and Central Coast motorists were spared the agony that is driving to Sydney.

Central Coast NSW Business Chamber has backed the push by the Northern Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (NSROC) for the F3 to M2 road link to be fast tracked.

"It's an absurd notion that the F3 comes to an abrupt stop when it reaches the Pacific Highway at Wahroonga," chamber regional manager, Daniel Farmer, said.

"We need an uninterrupted motorway linking the Central Coast with Western Sydney and the Sydney CBD, yet we are still waiting."

Mr Farmer said Sydney had an uninterrupted motorway link to Canberra but not to the Central Coast, Lake Macquarie and Newcastle.

"It is an agonising experience for anybody travelling into Sydney when they reach the Pacific Highway and face the slow grind to the M2, M7 or Warringah Freeway," he said.

"We need to see action taken on fixing this problem."
