IN 2009, Lake Macquarie Tourism sought to attract visitors with a campaign inviting Australia to "Love the Lake".
Three years on, and the local tourism body has stepped it up a notch, with the launch this week of the "Love the Lake. Lots to Love" campaign, featuring enticing images of the region, such as this lakeside bed and breakfast scene.
The centrepiece of the campaign is a slick 30-second television commercial which will go to air this month.
