POLICE are investigating an armed carjacking at Gorokan.
About 4.15pm yesterday, a 24-year-old man was sitting in his Holden Berlina in the car park of a medical centre on Wallarah Road, Gorokan.
Police have been told a man walked up to the car and threatened the driver with a firearm and broken beer bottle while demanding he get out of the car.
The 24-year-old complied and ran into the medical centre to report the incident.
His partner, a 23-year-old woman, ran from the centre and attempted to stop the car before she was dragged for a number of metres.
She was not injured.
The Holden was last seen travelling east on Wallarah Road.
Officers attached to Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command attended and began an investigation into the incident.
Detectives are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have seen the car, to come forward.
The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his late teens or early 20s, about 160cm tall, with light-brown hair.
He was wearing a blue t-shirt, beige shorts and a cap.
The car is a white Holden Berlina with NSW registration BZU 11M.
