POLICE will prepare a report for the Coroner following the death of a cyclist during a collision at Magenta, near The Entrance, on Sunday morning.
About 7.15am, a man was riding his mountain bike south along Wilfred Barrett Drive when he was involved in a collision with a silver Toyota Corolla.
Police believe the man was attempting to cross to the western side of the road and access a bike path when the collision occurred.
The cyclist, believed to be aged in his late 50s, died at the scene.
Investigators are attempting to identify the man and ask anyone with information to contact police.
An elderly man, who was driving the Toyota, was taken to Wyong Hospital suffering from shock.
He will also undergo mandatory blood and urine tests.
Police from Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
A crime scene was established on Wilfred Barrett Drive and the road closed while specialist forensic officers conducted examinations of the scene.
