Things are moving at Morisset

MORISSEY PCYC will host workshops by Deborah Lee Dance Academy and KWK Gymnastics and Sportz Academy tomorrow (Friday).

"We’re bringing movement to Morisset," art2264 project spokesperson Nikita Almond, 19, said.

“Where else can you enjoy this kind of variety for free?

“Everyone that participates is smiling and the fun is infectious."

Ms Almond has been an art2264 volunteer since the program began in October.

She attends the events, interviews participants, and later writes stories about the program for community newsletters and blogs.

Friday afternoon's workshops will focus on getting young people moving while having fun and making new friends.

“I've seen youths here making friends, and talking about how they want to come back again and again,” Ms Almond said.

The activities are designed for primary and secondary aged students, although younger participants and their families were welcome to attend, she said.

The free youth arts activities are held at the PCYC on the third Friday of every month from 4pm to 7pm.
