POSSIBLE Olympians of the future may be taking shape within the ranks of Southlakes Little Athletics Club.

Adopted by Dora Creek Workers, the young athletes now operate with a home base oval which is arguable one of the best in the city and it seems to be producing top results.

At the recent Zone Carnival held at the Hunter Athletic Centre, the Southlakes Little Athletics Club had a record number of athletes progressing through to the Regional Carnival with the result that 29 athletes will compete at Tamworth in four weeks time where they will try to qualify for the State Competition.

Luke Allbon in the U17 Boys set a new zone record in the high jump, clearing 1.84 metres while fellow high jumper, Emma-Sue Greentree, shattered the U11 Girls record of 1.35m by clearing 1.42 metres.
