MORISSET Strikers have completed soccer's InterDistrict 2 home-and-away season undefeated, and are just two wins away from clinching the premiership.
The Strikers will host second-placed Garden Suburb at Dora Creek Oval in the grand-final qualifier this Sunday at 3pm.
Morisset completed the historic home-and-away season with a 3-nil forfeit victory over Charlestown (who could not field a team on Saturday), then a 3-nil win over Newcastle Suns at Connelly Park on Sunday.
The Strikers were scheduled to play another catch-up game earlier this week, against Westlakes, but competition organisers deemed the match unnecessary, and recorded the game as a nil-all draw.
"For the first grade to win every game they played this season is a fantastic effort, and I don't think that it's been done in this competition," Morisset spokesperson Michael Gavin said.
"The boys were ecstatic."
Key marksman Karl Gavin is in some doubt this Sunday after re-injuring his ankle at the weekend.
"Karl is under a bit of a cloud, and only played half a game against Newcastle Suns," Gavin said.
