MORISSET Strikers will tonight play the first of two matches in less than 48 hours in a piece of InterDistrict 2 scheduling that has done the soccer club no favours.
The Strikers will take on second-placed Garden Suburb tonight (Thursday) at Lance York Oval in a catch-up game that was postponed due to wet weather in May.
Then on Saturday they'll back up to play Charlestown at Lisle Carr Oval.
"It's a big ask, and it is a concern," Morisset spokesman Michael Gavin said of the controversial scheduling.
"We haven't played Garden Suburb yet (due to a postponement) so we know very little about them, except that their results show that they will be a major challenge for us," Gavin said.
"It will be our hardest game of the year."
Morisset will tonight welcome striker Karl Gavin back into the starting line-up following his return from an ankle injury.
But midfielder Dan Bartlett will miss the game due to a one-match suspension.
Youngster Scott Dunning will replace Bartlett, Gavin said.
