Trial loss shows promising new Scorpions

18 Mar, 2010 01:00 AM
COACH Mal Graham saw enough good things in his team's recent trial loss against West Wollongong to suggest that the Macquarie Scorpions would be competitive in this year's Newcastle Rugby League premiership.

The West Wollongong side, coached by former NSW State of Origin player Paul McGregor, was very strong, Graham said.

Todd Bridge and Chad Solman combined well in the halves, while Grant Collins also played strongly.

Local juniors Ryan Houston, Ben Fordham and Patrick and Andy Sumner also impressed.nte
