Strikers in sight of perfection

26 Aug, 2010 01:00 AM
IF Morisset Strikers are to complete the InderDistrict 2 soccer season undefeated, they will have earned it.

To achieve the perfect record the Strikers will have to win three games in possibly four days.

Because of the need to play catch-up games resulting from wet weather postponements, the Strikers will face:

■ Charlestown, at Lisle Carr Oval, this Saturday;

■ Newcastle Suns, at Connelly Park, this Sunday; and

■ Westlakes, possibly on Monday or Tuesday, at a venue to be announced.

Last Thursday night, in another catch-up game, Morisset was back at full-strength and dismantled second-placed Garden Suburd 5-1.

Striker Jamie Bartlett, 17, continued his impressive form in scoring twice.

Then on Saturday, Morisset backed up to defeat Barnsley Seniors 3-1.
