LAKE Munmorah BMX rider Jaie Toohey reached new heights on his way to winning the Red Bull Dirt Pipe event in Victoria.
The event was launched by Red Bull in a secret location in the Victorian snowfields, and combined elements of a snowboarding super pipe with BMX dirt jumping.
The pipe stretched 120 metres and stood an imposing four metres high.
"But it's not your average half pipe," Red Bull's Jessica Lee said.
"It's sprinkled with wall rides, hips, and street-inspired extensions that have been designed to push the limits of BMX."
Lee said Toohey amazed event judges with his ability to push the boundaries of BMX riding.
"It simply came down to Jaie's ability to boost ridiculously high while keeping it consistent and under control the whole time," Lee said.
The event featured 60 elite riders who were hand-picked from several riding backgrounds, she said.
Jaie's prize included an all-expenses-paid trip and automatic entry to the Red Bull Stomping Ground, a BMX competition in Chicago.
