Macquarie scored two late tries but lost 38-26 to Northern Blues at Peacock Field.
Wyong, meanwhile, lost 18-16 to Maitland at Morry Breen Field, Kanwal.
Wyong winger Josh Mantellato scored a late try to get the Roos within one kick of a draw, but his conversion attempt missed from wide out.
This Sunday, Macquarie will take on Central Newcastle at St John Oval, and Wyong will face Wests at Harker Oval.
