A LOCAL gymnast has been identified as a potential star of the sport after an outstanding all-round performance at the NSW Open Gymnastics Championships at Homebush.
Jasmine Fischbeck, 11, of Mannering Park, is the latest success story to emerge from KWK Gymnastics Sportz Academy, at Morisset.
Competing recently at the State Sports Centre, Jasmine recorded podium placings in three of the four apparatus in her Level 4 division.
KWK owner and program director Nancy Foster said Jasmine placed first on the vault (scoring "an unbelievable" 14.5 out of 15), first on uneven bars, second on balance beam, and fourth on floor.
"Jasmine has pure gymnastics talent and the potential to pursue national and elite titles in the near future," Ms Foster said.
News of Jasmine's success at the NSW Championships follows the dual age-division wins of KWK gymnasts Sarah Sinclair and Zarah-Ann Hooper at the Hunter Region Gymnastics Championships.
Ms Foster said she was currently seeking girls aged four to five to register for her development and gym squad programs.
