IT'S not just round numbers that has marked 2010 as potentially the best year yet for the South Lakes Junior Rugby League Football Club.
The club's Dora Creek Workers home ground has been selected as the host oval for the Newcastle Knights Junior Representative Trials next week (January 16).
"To say we're very excited about this new year is an understatement. It's getting off to a brilliant start," SLJRLC vice president Brian Finlay said.
"The trials next week will see the Knights Chargers Youth Squad taking on South West Sydney Academy U15s and that game will be followed by the U16s Harold Matthews Knights versus Manly.
"The last trial game of the day will be the U18s Knights versus Manly," Mr Finlay said.
But the really good news for the South Lakes Juniors is a major sponsorship deal.
"We aren't able to provide details just yet but suffice to say it's the richest sponsorship deal we've ever had and it should provide a really great foundation for a top year for the club.
"While we can't say at the moment who the sponsor is we hope to make the announcement very shortly. I can only say we are fortunate and extremely grateful for this opportunity."
