Club looking for pony prizes

05 Aug, 2010 01:00 AM
COORANBONG Pony Club will host the sixth Zone 24 Interclub, having taken second place at the recent Wyong Interclub event with 27 riders out of 130 entries.

The club, which fields riders up to 24 years of age, is now looking for local business sponsors for its Cooranbong Interclub on August 15.

Senior instructor, Cathy Green said the main fund-raising feature of the event is a raffle.

"Money raised goes towards equipment and training. Any products or services local business can give us for the raffle would be a wonderful help and really appreciated," she said.

Ms Green said Cooranbong was shaping up nicely for the Interclub final Jamboree to be held at Morisset Showground in November.

"Of the eight Zone 24 clubs, we find it hard to beat Tall Timbers (Ourimbah) who seem to put up really good horses, but we are working on it," Ms Green said.

Cooranbong's champion riders for their age-group categories were Claudia Aylward, Georgia Williamson and Erin Mahony.

Ashley Thompson was reserve champion.

To support the club, phone Cathy Green on 0414 779 416.
