TRIAL matches don't get any bigger than this.
Defending Newcastle Rugby League premiers Wyong will host glamour club Western Suburbs in all grades at Morry Breen Field, Kanwal, this Sunday.
An off-season spending spree has seen the Rosellas sign former Newcastle Knight Sean Rudder, Cessnock prop Sione Finefeuiaki, NSW Residents prop Simon Osborne, and Queensland Cup Daniel Isaac to their roster for 2010.
The Roos, meanwhile, will have a different look for their premiership defence.
Back-rower Dane Cronin has retired, while halfback Mark Miller has succumbed to ongoing knee problems.
"Mark struggled for us last year with his knees," Wyong coach Paul Stringer said. "So he's decided to hang up the boots."
Among Wyong's new recruits are Manly Premier League centre John Grey, Melbourne Storm Premier League five-eighth Kirk Thompson, and young Manly prop Luke Haddrick.
Former Terrigal Sharks junior Shaun Sullivan returns to rugby league with the Roos after a couple of seasons in Sydney's Shute Shield rugby union premiership, while the Newcastle Rugby League Rookie of the Year in 2007, Kene Te Whata, is back at Wyong after two years at Parramatta.
The first grade trial kicks off at 3pm.
