LOCAL contenders in the Little Athletics Regional Carnival at Tamworth last week produced top medal results with no less than 10 athletes earning a place in the state finals to be held at Homebush next month.
Tom Steel took a gold in the U9s Boys High Jump with a height of 1.14 metres while Jazlyn Evans earned a bronze in the U9s Girls 800 Metres.
Chase Karn took gold in the 800 metres and silver in both the 400 metres and 1500 metres U10s Boys. Jordann Johnson earned gold in the U10 Girls Discus with a throw 27.23 metres plus a silver in the Shot Put.
Shayanne Wright earned gold in the 1500 metres plus bronze in the 800 metres U10 Girls. Emma-Sue Greentree took gold in the 60 metres hurdles, high jump (1.40 metres), and triple jump plus a bronze in the Discus U11s Girls. Isaac Goodhew took silver in the boys 60 metre hurdles while Dana Gill gained a Bronze in the U12 Girls Long Jump.
Sjoin Stephens earned gold on the U15s Boys 200 Metres Hurdles and Luke Allbon won the U17 boys High Jump (1.77 m) and took a bronze in the 100 Metre Hurdles.
