Boost for Watagan Pony Club

02 Feb, 2012 12:00 AM
WATAGAN Pony Club started a busy year with its registration day on Saturday at Morisset Showground.

As the district's newest pony club, members are keen to make it a successful year both competitively and socially.

The club received a big boost last year when eight unemployed young people from Cessnock and Maitland got a helping hand from Hunter Valley Training Company to acquire new vocatoional skills.

The lads set to fabricating 50 new jumps for the club, now in regular use by the club members.

New, existing and prospective members are invited to join the club and learn to ride from the club's qualified and friendly instructors.

In March the club will again hold its renowned Watagan Dressage Championships in addition to its regular training days for vaulting and trick riding, plus a show jumping equitation day and varied equestrian activities.

The club has a top class venue at the Morisset Showground in a centrally located position.

Details on reistration requirements on 4777 3320 or 0419 276 661.
