Mariners fans were just us bad as the Squadron

Mariners fans were just us bad as the Squadron

22 Dec, 2011 12:00 AM
I ATTENDED the Jets/Mariners game at the Central Coast with three of my grandchildren.

The behaviour of a few Jets supporters was at times appalling, but the Mariners supporters were just as bad and were instigating fights. The Jets Squadron had been wonderful this season, a pleasure to sit near. I saw security personnel manhandle and use unnecessary force to remove my grandson and throw him out on the road - all because he was concerned for his cousin who had to be taken to first aid after fainting in the Squadron area. I will not be attending another game on the Central Coast.

I just wish they'd move the Bluetongue Stadium out of Gosford as it is costing me money as a taxi driver due to traffic nightmares when they close the streets off.

Never mind the fans and the mayor of Gosford, just get the stadium in West Gosford and place it in the middle of the Gosford race track. Make an underground parking space and re-design the seating so people can, between races and games stoppage, watch both. Many people who I have talked to think this is a great idea and a win-win situation for everyone in the sports.
