WANGI'S famous Wilson drummer girls have scored another hit.

As members of the Sydney-based grade one The Pipeband Club, Emma, 21, and her youngest sister Chloe, 15, have won the highest grade Australian Pipeband Championships in Queensland to become back-to-back Australian Champions in the highly contended arena of of international performers.

At Caloundra, the band also received the Best Drum Core award.

"We're thrilled, especially Chloe whose only been playing for about three years or so," Emma said.

Chloe, 15, is a student at Morisset High and two years ago she was the youngest ever member of the prestigious The Pipeband Club. She performed in her first competition, the National Pipe Band Championships in New Zealand, and within weeks went on to play in her first World Pipe Band Championships aged 13.

Emma, who is now a primary school teacher, and Chloe are preparing to travel with The Pipeband Club again to compete in Emma's fifth and Chloe's second World Pipe Band Championships in Scotland in August.

They will be competing in the highest Grade 1 and the band must be one of the top six qualifiers to play in the finals.
