THIS year's annual Morisset Lake Macquarie District Agricultural Show will have the biggest, most diverse and brightest stage entertainment in the 58 year history of the event.
Organisers say more than half of the show events will be making their debut as totally new entertainment at Morisset Show Ground when the two day family highlight of the district's calendar opens on Saturday February 4.
New will be a ute muster with the $5 per category entry fee ($20 covers all 10 categories) going to Westmead Children's Hospital oncology unit.
Ute organiser, Nikkie Black (0417860192) said registration is by 11am for afternoon judging.
"There's a class for all ute owners from fun lovers who see their vehicle as a hoot or a fashion statement on rubber hoops to serious enthusiasts with a restored classic," Ms Black said.
Popular country music brothers Martin and Aubrey Beggs are both talented multi-instrument musicians, but now there's a new weapon in their armoury- ukuleles. They will be supporting the ukulele orchestra, the Lake Mac Ukestra, which will debut at the show on Sunday.
See the show advertisement on page 12 for program times, but don't miss Elvis (Norm Bakker) at 11.30am on Saturday or the Sunshine Brothers Jazz Band.
On the Sunday, features include the Lakes Mail poetry competition, wood chopping, first ever pet show competition, singer Snowy Robson, the Pipe Band Dancers, Bill Bennett Gospel Singers and numerous raffles.
Lake Mayor and MP Greg Piper will officially open the show at 1pm on Saturday followed by the announcement and official crowning of Miss Morisset.
