POOR weather shrunk the crowds but Morisset's 56th annual two-day show, a regional agricultural society precursor to the Royal Easter Show in Sydney, featured many new facets and was a success, the organisers say.
"The weather could have been kinder but those who made it enjoyed it," organiser Nellie Beggs said.
Aboriginal dancer, Daniella Chedsey and her Yumakurra performers, Alicia Davis, Emma Truman and Linda Mower were new attractions. They introduced newcomers to a cleansing smoke ceremony and invited them to learn an Aboriginal pippi dance.
"We also had Ulysses motorcyclists for the first time and camel rides," Ms Beggs said.
Jenny Markwell won as Lakes Mail Poet of the Year and Adam Price won the Reg Lindsay memorial karaoke contest.
"We had more entries in basically all categories including the dogs, goats and equestrian events, and the woodchopping challenge was extensive and intensely competitive," Ms Beggs said.
A special event during the stage proceedings saw Morisset Showground patron, Robyn Gibson, present Showground Trust secretary Les Norris with a plaque for his 25 years service.
