TOMMY the turtle's retail drive to promote Toronto retailers and businesses has been voted a success by participants and residents alike.

Town cordinator, Keryl Fedrick said the scheme based on free draw entries to win vouchers to spend in any of 27 participating shops stores was a hit.

"But if and when we do another one, I think it will be smaller. One fo the general reactions we had was that it was a bit big," Ms Fedrick said.

"As it was we gave the winners their prizes in $50 voucher to give them spending flexibility."

Maxine Johns from Morisset Park was the lucky shopper who won $500 worth of vouchers.

Sue Burrough from Carey Bay won the second prize of $250 worth of vouchers while Leeann Hendrie of Bonnells Bay collected a handy $100 worth of vouchers for third prize.
