Toy thieves target young local family

11 Mar, 2010 01:00 AM
THIEVES who stole a large trampoline from the front yard of a Windermere Park home have been labelled "an embarrassment" by the victim.

"We hope they are very proud of themselves, stealing from children," mum Tracey Armstead said.

"We have reported it to the police and we are actively seeking any information and help from the public."

She said the trampoline was large and heavy and it was behind a high barred fence when it was stolen in the early hours of Sunday morning (February 28).

"My son Brendon and his sister Chloe are devastated. Surely it must be noticed if a thing this size turns up at somebody's home," Ms Armstead said.

The angry mother said her family had grown tired of thefts from their property.

"My daughter's bicycle was stolen just before Christmas and last year we had two canoes stolen from the property," Ms Armstead said.

"We are taking extra precautions but if anybody knows anything please call me on 0413 257 018."
