TORONTO'S latest watering hole will see practically all it's drinkers booked in the next year, and everybody will be delighted about it, including the patrons.
The new watering hole is Toronto Library and the beverage on offer is exactly that - water.
It's all part of Toronto's Tidy Town quest which will feature water as the principal liquid asset for this year's challenge.
Toronto Tidy Town Committee chairperson, Kelly Hoare, said that $3000 provided by Toronto Lions, Toronto Diggers Club and Toronto Workers had been ploughed into purchasing Toronto branded water bottles.
"These are special reusable bottles to minimise landfill. The bottles are dishwasher proof and can be refilled over and over again with filtered water at the library or Toronto Diggers," Ms Hoare said.
The bottles will be launched next month in a similar way to the Toronto's hugely successful Green Bags campaign last year.
And there's more help flowing for this challenge.
The Cessnock branch of Eco Springs, a national company specialising in filtration supply and purification, has donated two systems for residents to refill their bottles free.
One system was installed at Toronto Library on Thursday, and the other was installed at Toronto Diggers Club.
Eco Springs franchise owner, Roger Neville, said the units deliver both room temperature and chilled water from separate taps.
"Tap water goes in but purified water comes out. The fluoride is retained but the chlorine and heavy metals, etc, are filtered out. It costs around one cent to fill a bottle," Mr Neville said.
Toronto Tidy Towns Committee is aiming high for awards this year and is submitting entries for seven categories:
