Students drop everything to eggsperiment

22 Apr, 2010 12:00 AM
IN a flurry of yoke, white and learning, Coorangbong's Avondale School year fives took to a balcony this month for their annual Egg Drop.

The eggs, launched in the name of science, were fitted with apparatus designed to soften their landings.

Ideas hatched to protect the eggs included shopping bag parachutes, balloons, buckets and bubble wrap.

Arcing through the air above the school quadrangle, the eggs faced a four-metre drop. Many didn't make it.

"It was really cool seeing whose eggs made it and whose didn't," student Caleb said.
