WANGI and district menfolk are closer to building their shed.
The 36-strong Men's Shed group are negotiating with a builder to draw up the plans and submit them to Lake Macquarie City Council.
The group has $1937 including grants from the Federal Government and Eraring Energy.
"We are also getting help from Bunnings, who allowed us to run a barbecue at the new Morisset premises," a Men's Shed spokesman said.
"We have the next one planned there for Sunday, March 14.
"But before then we will have a barbecue on February 26 at the grounds where the shed will be built in French Street, Wangi."
