Return to sender

25 Mar, 2010 12:00 AM
SELF confesssed Bonnells Bay anti-litter champion, Glenn Berkeley, sang Return To Sender to himself as he walked a 500m stretch of Fishery Point Road last week collecting enough litter to fill a garbage bag in an hour.

"I identified most of the rubbish as originating from McDonald's so I took it back to them," he said.

Mr Berkeley, who is campaigning for more effort from Lake Macquarie Council to clean the area, said the family restaurant staff were taken aback.

"They said they encourage responsible litter disposal but I think it should be tougher," Mr Berkely said.
