A WANGI resident's security camera has captured images of, well, he has no idea what they are.
John Brown says one of his security cameras records the tree lined ridge at the rear of his Reserve Road home and normally captures three or four frames throughout the night.
But around 3.45am on June 1, his system "went beserk" and recorded some 1200 images.
"I don't have an astronomers's set up with fancy equipment, it's just a security system activated by light and movement. When I reviewed the first few dozen frames and found they were all of blank night sky I was puzzled but didn't think too much of it," Mr Brown said.
But when later checking all frames before deleting the recorded data, Mr Brown says he found a series of frames which contained what looked like two bright lights and three spheres illuminated by their radiance.
"I wasn't going to say anything because people would think I'm a looney tune, but these images are inexplicable. These are small cameras but what is recorded is quite clearly images in the sky above the tree line and in a western direction so it isn't anything to do with the sunrise and the time shown is around 3.45am. It isn't specks on the lens or computer trickery.
"Now that I'm curious, I recently watched that TV show Taken and saw almost identical images including the spheres with the lights which is really creepy, Mr Brown said.
Several weeks ago a Morisset resident and Lakes Mail reader reported seeing curious bright shapes in the sky around 4am moving south west from the lake.
