New restaurant for DC

24 Jun, 2010 12:00 AM
DORA CReek is about to get it's purpose built al la carte restaurant back.

The elegant restaurant opened as the Lanyard Stone Grill in 2006 but was taken over by the restaurant's chef, Andrew Miller in March last year and renamed Millers.

But Mr Miller later took to ventures new, leaving the former restaurant empty with closed doors for the last few months.

"But I'm happy to say it's back," said new chef and restaurant owner, Greg Wilson.

Mr Wilson will be known to many as a long serving chef in the area having worked at various local restaurants including Wangi Workers, Ripples in Toronto and Morisset Country Club.

Opening this week as the Powerhouse Bar and Grill, he said the new restaurant will be Australian al la carte cuisine with the emphasis on low prices.

"Quality dining doesn't need to cost a fortune, volume is the trick. I aim to make it possible for people to come out twice a week for the price of once a week," he said.

Fully licensed, the restaurant will open for lunch and dinner from Tuesday to Sunday inclusive.
