MEMBERS of Southlake Old Boys, the social club for retired mates, has formed a new Citizens Auxiliary to supplement the work of the Women's Auxiliary in helping the Returned and Services League (RSL) raise funds.
Secretary of the new Auxiliary, Jim Lamb, said the primary aim of the new auxiliary was to be a role model for other areas to do the same.
"We happen to be a relatively strong RSL area but in many rural areas the RSL sub branches need help and that's where the formation of Citizen Auxiliaries may make a big difference," Mr Lamb said.
"There's 21 of us, some already RSL members, in our new auxiliary and the funds we raise will be split between the State RSL and local sub branch funds."
