LOCAL child musicians as young as six years old will perform in a unique charity concert in June.
The youngsters study under Cooranbong Seventh Day Adventist Avondale Memorial Church organist and teacher David Wright
The goal of the concert is to raise funds for the Southlakes Women's Refuge.
Mr Wright is the first qualified organ teacher in the southern hemisphere to use the Suzuki method which is currently being pioneered in the church at Cooranbong.
The concert will feature, among others, Stephen Aveling-Rowe, the talented 11-year-old oboe student from Morisset Peninsula who was playing almost before he could walk.
"Stephen was the first student in the southern hemisphere to graduate from the new Suzuki Organ Program," Mr Wright said.
"Four weeks after our concert I will have four students, including Stephen, performing on the Grand Organ, the largest mechanical-action organ in the world, at the Sydney Opera House."
Mr Wright is believed to have the largest number of students learning organ via the Suzuki method in Australia.
"They will be performing organ solos and concertos at a Suzuki Gala Anniversary Concert to celebrate 40 years of Suzuki music education in NSW," Mr Wright said.
For the concert on June 5, the children's items will include vocal, piano, organ, strings and oboe.
Entry is free with a voluntary gold coin collection.
The concert at the Cooranbong church starts at 3pm.
