CHEAP amusement rides, 60 stalls and a feast of entertainment with a multicultural flavour are again expected to attract a record crowd to the Warnervale and Districts Annual Fair this Saturday.
Chairperson of the local organising committee for the fair, Vivien Paulson, said the record crowd of 4000 at last year's event was likely to be surpassed.
"Last year we combined the fair with Harmony Day celebrations for the first time, and it was the biggest attendance we've ever had," she said.
"I think we could well have 5000 people there this Saturday."
Ms Paulson said the support of sponsors including Wyong Shire Council and Lake Haven Shopping Centre allowed the fair organisers to offer amusement rides to patrons at about one-third of the normal cost.
Tickets will cost between $2 and $4 to enjoy amusements such as a rock climbing wall, mini jeeps, camel rides and jumping castles.
Among the free activities will be trackless train rides, drumming workshops and a reptile show.
"It's a great opportunity for families to enjoy an affordable and fun day out with their children," Ms Paulson said.
Multicultural entertainers at the fair will include Fijian and Filipino cultural groups, boot scooters, a choir and belly dancers. About 60 market stalls will also be open for business.
The Warnervale and Districts Annual Fair will be held at Warnervale Athletics Field this Saturday, March 20, from 9.30am to 3.30pm. Go to www.warnervalefair.org.au for details.
