Driving in luxury

11 Mar, 2010 01:00 AM
IF you see a shiny black limousine pull up at the lights in Morisset, riding in its chauffeured luxury is more likely to be a local than than a visiting VIP.

Morisset and district residents can now travel in the leather upholstered luxury of an $85,000 limousine while watching movies or video clips of their choice on personal TV screens.

Behind the wheel of both the sparkling new top-of-the-range flagship Holden Caprice and the idea of a local limo service is former taxi driver David Smith from Wangi.

"I gained limo experience with Toronto Hire Cars and realised there is a need in our area to extend the service with a locally based limousine which can be operated in conjunction with them," Mr Smith said.

"My service isn't a replacement for conventional taxis, but an additional service which people would use for special occasions.

"But for journeys of more than 10 kilometres the comfort of a limousine is about the same journey cost.

"And for long journeys the limousine price structure is way cheaper for the passenger. A typical taxi fare to Sydney airport is about $380 whereas in my limousine it is $270."

Ideal for special occasions, bookings on 4975 5577.
