CANCER research is a little nearer to potential success with a donated $4400, the proceeds from a Cancer Council social bowling day organised by the Wangi Bowling Club.
"We catered for 150 bowlers on the day with many being first time bowlers," bowls secretary, Jim Gilmour said.
"We also had raffles and people from all areas contributed," Mr Gilmour said.
The club presented the cheque on Thursday.
